This seems very similar to my bar snacks experience, with the exception of the soup.

On a related note, I am in the process of making a barrel aged Vieux Carré from a recipe I found on the blog of David Lebovitz. Chad helped me find a 2L oak barrel.

I’ll let you know how it goes in 6-8 weeks.
