Happy New Year’s Eve

Happy New Year’s Eve to everyone!

Nora and I may have seen two New Year’s “in” by staying up past midnight twice since 2000. So we will be early to bed tonight and early to rise on the 1st. Hopefully, we will go out to a yummy breakfast – maybe Earl of Sandwich? On Thanksgiving

Pop Century Resort – Christmas 2012

This will be the last Walt Disney World resort we bring to you this season. It was fun to visit so many resorts and be able to compare their decorations. We endeavored to share with you photos of the best that Walt Disney Resorts had to offer for the 2012 holidays.

Certainly the deluxe resorts

Art of Animation Resort – Christmas 2012

Art of Animation Resort opened in May 2012 so this was the resort’s first Christmas. Thus, our first time to see how it was decorated and in fact, our first visit to the resort. The lobby area is very tasteful and nicely modern. Even with all the animation cells and line drawings, the style could

It is all in the details – Christmas, Site 1204 – Fort Wilderness, 2012

Every three to five years it seems that someone “ups the ante”  for decorating at Fort Wilderness. We don’t go to the campground every week so it is possible we miss some of the decorations. But the most elaborate decorations are typically up all season long. If this family was at Fort Wilderness with this

Dave “The Castle Guy” at Fort Wilderness

Dave, “The Castle Guy”, has been a favorite at Fort Wilderness since 2008 when he first “debuted” his Castle and Christmas light show. We were lucky enough to being staying in a cabin at Fort Wilderness and saw Dave’s display that first year. We overheard some of Dave’s conversations and he remarked a couple of

Christmas Lights at Fort Wilderness 2012

No matter how much we try, we do not see all the holiday decorations at Walt Disney World as often or in as much detail as we would like. This is especially true of the guest/camper decorations at Fort Wilderness. Today I will share some photos from an evening walk we took around the campground

Christmas at Fort Wilderness during the day 2012

Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground does not need to do much holiday decorating…the campers do more than most home owners. Although many Disney World fans know about all the decorations at Fort Wilderness, many never take the time to go see them. It is possible to write a month long blog about all that there

Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian Resort in 2012

Perhaps the most popular decoration at the Grand Floridian is the gingerbread house. I do not think the gingerbread house “holds a candle” to the tree and all the Victorian trimmings. The gingerbread house is large and is impressive – it is something you must see in person at least once. Funny, this year I

Christmas Tree at The Grand Floridian in 2012

How spectacular is the Christmas tree at The Grand Floridian? I cannot recall any day I have visited when there has not been a bridal party having photos made in front of this tree. To contrast, I have never seen a bridal party at other WDW resorts taking photos in front of a Christmas tree.
