Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Buttercup Cottage Field Greens Salad

I think of this as Buttercup’s Salad, the actual description is a lot longer…

Field Greens with Plant City Strawberries, Toasted Almonds and Farmstead Stilton (sounds good, doesn’t it?)

This item was made when Nick ordered it on a Monday evening (in other words, it wasn’t sitting around waiting for someone to come

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Buttercup Cottage Potato & Cheese Biscuit and Smoked Salmon Tartare

We made our way back to the Buttercup Cottage to sample the “Freshly Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Biscuit with Smoked Salmon Tartare”

We had this item last year -we couldn’t detect the cheese this year either.

The salmon was VERY lemony, maybe that’s where the strong lemon scent we’ve been smelling is coming

2014 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival – Face detail is much improved

One of the promotional claims made by Disney this year is that the face details on the topiaries is more realistic this year…

We’re particularly taken with Snow White and the Seven Dwarves…

2014 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival – Best flowers and garden scapes

We want to share what we think of as the best from this year’s festival.

Garden scales…

Yellow and orange flowers around the blue and silver Universe of Energy, nice contrast. Plus, we like the composition with the monorail, Spaceship Earth, and the big blue ball.

The roses in Germany were really

Citrico’s at The Grand Floridian – Charcuterie and THE Veal Shank

This dining experience took place on Monday, March 17, 2014

Surprisingly, at least to us, we’ve never been to Citrico’s in the Grand Floridian Resort – the menu usually has something that piques our interest. The menu has always changed seasonally (which happens more often at Walt Disney World restaurants property

2014 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival – Artistic Plantings around lagoons

One of our favorite elements of the Flower and Garden Festival is the artistic planting around the lagoons at Epcot. When first installed, these aren’t at their best – after a few weeks, as the blooms and foliage fills in… they become quite spectacular.

The floating gardens are nice this year, they sport a variety

Raglan Road Pub – Soup & Salad Combo and Three Times A Boxty

This lunch experience took place on Thursday, March 20, 2014

We really like to stop at Raglan Road Pub for lunch, we haven’t done it in quite a while – and intend to fix that by stopping in more regularly. Frankly, we tend to prefer lunches or “nibble bits” (a.k.a. appetizers) over the

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – The Smokehouse Turkey Rib

We recently stopped at The Smokehouse for a morning snack…

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Revisiting Urban Farm Eats (Tilapia and Beet Salad)

On April 7, we went back to Urban Farm Eats to have two items again (we skipped the Eggplant Scallop for a redo, we eat eggplant and spaghetti squash on a regular basis but not tilapia or beets)… Our main goals were (1) we liked them the first time around and we were hungry and

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Urban Farm Eats Ghost Pepper Dusted Tilapia

We were rather hesitant to try this offering from Urban Farm Eats… Biggest reason, we typically don’t like tilapia (no taste or it tastes like mud).

However, we’d been very pleased with the pickled beet salad and the eggplant scallop, so we were a bit more willing to try the
