2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival – Australia Marketplace – Lamb Chop

We had eaten lamb chops earlier in the Festival, we wanted to have one with Harry (from Newcastle, England)… And we did, but we didn’t follow our intentions fully… we had meant to ask for the lamb chops “naked” (i.e. without sauce or potato crunchies)…

Now, the day we had these with Harry, we couldn’t help but think … these aren’t BAD but they aren’t as good as the lamb that Harry made us in Newcastle!

However, we persevered and went back to the Australia Marketplace at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival and ordered us a naked lamb chop …

Grilled Lamb Chop - Austalia - 2013 Epcot Food Wine Festival - 2

Naked Lamb Chop

The flavor of this one was much better, it was a bit greasy and had quite a bit of fat on it… but hey! That’s what makes lamb (and pig!) so d*mned tasty. This lamb had some nice browning on it with a bit of saltiness. We both really liked the red wine (Penfolds Bin 8 Cabernet Shiraz) with the lamb (it’s a featured pairing) – alone, the wine was a bit “eh” BUT we both like red wine with lamb dishes.

Grilled Lamb Chop - Austalia - 2013 Epcot Food Wine Festival - 1

Featured Pairing – Penfolds Bin 8 Cabernet Shiraz & Grilled Lamb Chop

We think this may be one of the better items from the Festival – we suggest asking for it “naked” … two reasons… (1) it won’t be masked by sauces etc and (2) you’ll be sure to get a freshly grilled lamb chop.

REQUEST: Serve lamb in more restaurants at Walt Disney World
