Our favorite presenter at the 2010 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival was Martin Daraz from the Edrington Group. You cannot imagine my disappointment when Martin nor the Edrington Group were on the schedule for the 2011 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival.
Martin celebrated his fifth year as a presenter last year by sharing two bottles of Macallan FO 21 year old (talk about extra magic!!!)! We talked to him several times and his hope was that the Festival organizers would allow him to expand – hopefully adding a chocolate and scotch tasting. What a perfect fit for our tastes and we eagerly awaited this year’s schedule to see if the organizers had stepped up. Again the only word that comes to mind is disappointment.
There are 6 “TBD’s” on the calendar for the new Mixology Seminars. I don’t think scotch fits in mixology but I am hopeful or maybe wishful. It would be a real shame if Martin Daraz is not presenting at this year’s festival. As of now, he is not on the calendar.
