Brazil – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014

On to Brazil!

We didn’t quite enjoy the Pork Belly from Brazil last year, we wished for a more crispiness. It was disappointing because we really like pork belly.

This year, it wasn’t disappointing at all. This may be the best thing we’ve had so far

Scotland – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014

Continuing on with our shortened list for the Marketplace Booths… next up…

Scotland

Everything was just sitting around waiting when Nick went to the booth to get our tastings – not a good sign.

Last year, we really liked the vegetarian haggis, so we were really looking forward to it this year.

Puerto Rico – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014

By this point in the Food & Wine Festival, we went back through our passports and narrowed down our “want to eat” lists…

There were two things that stayed on our list at the Puerto Rico Marketplace: Conch Salad and Tostones (originally this was “Frituras: crispy fried potato balls and fried green plantains with mayo

Morocco – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014

We had hoped to try the shrimp roll at Morocco and as of today, we’ve had the shrimp roll once and the beef Kefta pocket twice (it was good the first time and worth repeating).

So, after disappointing items from the Morocco booth in

South Korea – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014

We loved the Kimchi Dog last year and so had to get it again this year. We got one for Walter too!

Kimchi Dog with Spicy Mustard Sauce

Simply delicious. This is just damned good. It isn’t overly spicy but if you’re afraid of spicy, that’s fine, I’ll have yours! These are made especially

Australia – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014

Nevie was with us the first full week of Food & Wine and since she was on a quest to eat as much lamb as we could find… the lamb “lollypop” from Australia made the list repeatedly.

We thought that this particular lamb chop looked

New Zealand – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014

Last year, we really liked the venison sausage at the New Zealand booth. The booth has been relocated (I believe it was next to Morocco in the past), it’s now nearer Mexico.

Nevie thought this was “yum!” Nick thought it was even better

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Fleur de Lys Confit de Canard

The full description of this is Confit de Canard, Pommes de Terre Sarladaise (Pulled Duck Confit with Garlic and Parsley Potatoes)… The evening we tried this, we also had the Gnocchi Parisien and the Kronenbourg Blanc 1664.

The duck was very rich and the flavor was okay, but not as “ducky” as we prefer

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Fleur de Lys Gnocchi Parisien

The full description is…

Gnocchi Parisien a la Provencal (Parisian Style Dumplings with Vegetables and Mushrooms)

The dumplings weren’t like Italian gnocchi at all in terms of shape or texture. It was more like someone had made a long “snake” of dough, cut it off into equal sections, and called it dumplings.

The vegetables

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Buttercup Cottage Field Greens Salad

I think of this as Buttercup’s Salad, the actual description is a lot longer…

Field Greens with Plant City Strawberries, Toasted Almonds and Farmstead Stilton (sounds good, doesn’t it?)

This item was made when Nick ordered it on a Monday evening (in other words, it wasn’t sitting around waiting for someone to come
