We return to Il Mulino after a long hiatus

We haven’t been to Il Mulino in quite a while (we think it’s been about 3 years). Why? Well, our first three visits, not long after the location reopened as Il Mulino were all pretty disastrous. One visit with just us went poorly… the service wasn’t good and the food was only moderately good. The

Planning a multi day visit, Part II

We plan to do a dry run of the Magic Kingdom day for our upcoming multi day visit to Walt Disney World with friends who’ve never been…

Thought you might find our “dry run” notes interesting, items in italics are only maybe items. At present:

Our first dinner at Shula’s

Surprisingly, we’ve never eaten at Shula’s Steakhouse in the Dolphin. Well, maybe it isn’t so surprising since we aren’t steak eaters (and this visit to Shula’s has undone that). But, Joseph from bluezoo recently moved to Shula’s and since he was our favorite server there, we had to go see him in his new place.

Extra WDW Magic from around the Ether… Jan.22.2014

I’m going to be a brief today…

One of the BIG things that’s happened at Walt Disney World recently is the opening of Spice Route Tables at the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot. Now, we have our doubts about how this venue will succeed. First of all, the idea of small plates at Tutto Gusto failed

Planning a visit to Disney World with others

Even before we became “Extra WDW Magic,” we were really into planning trips to Walt Disney World. Our first “REAL” visit to Walt Disney World (in other words, the first visit when we sort of kinda knew what to expect, 2002… it was also the first visit when we were somewhat responsible for someone else

Breakfast at Fresh Mediterranean Market at the Dolphin Resort

We had never eaten at Fresh before this breakfast in December. A couple of reasons: (1) we’re rarely at this resort in the mornings and (2) it’s a buffet with an a la carte option [much like Garden Grove]… However, we’ve decided that we should give eateries at the Swan and Dolphin resorts that AREN’T

Lunch with an Animal Specialist at Sanaa (2nd time around)

We were very pleased to go back to Sanaa for the Lunch with an Animal Specialist Thanksgiving Weekend. This was the first time that our friends Kris & Kevin had eaten at Sanaa – but interestingly, it wasn’t the first time that the four of us teamed up to do something special at Animal Kingdom

Extra WDW Magic from around the ether… Jan.8.2014

It’s been a while since I’ve done a round-up of the Disney World ether – you know, Food & Wine and the holidays got in the way… But I saved up a lot of stuff and for now, we’re back to a Wednesday look around

So today, I have weird connections…

Last year, I
