first Tequila Lunch at La Hacienda – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014

This Food & Wine Festival experience took place on Thursday, September 25, 2014

I think this was our seventh Tequila Lunch (we did it twice in 2012 and in 2013), but it was Nevie’s first time. She had told us that she likes tequila – we found out later that she really likes

Via Napoli Beer Pairing – Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014

This Epcot Food & Wine Festival experience took place on Tuesday, September 23, 2014

We (nick & I) have done this twice in the past (2011 & 2013) – and honestly – we haven’t been overwhelmed either time. But, when we started planning a visit during Epcot Food & Wine Festival with our

We have reservations for Epcot International Food & Wine Festival 2014!

We were able to get all of the reservations that we wanted, except two…

Dining Through the Decades: A Tribute to Walt Disney – we wanted reserved seating (the only way that doing events in the World Showplace is enjoyable for us), all sold out by the time I got to speak to a live

thoughts and plans for Food & Wine 2014

Planning for Food & Wine is always exciting and at the same time a bit daunting…

How many special events do we want to do? How many special events fit into our schedule (we always seem to have lots of visitors during Food & Wine, and isn’t a given that they want to go to

Alan Parsons Flower Power Concert

This experience took place on Sunday, May 18, 2014 (the last event of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014)

The concert was a bit disappointing compared to some of the others we’ve seen at Epcot in the last year or so. It’s not that anything was really horrible, just that most everything wasn’t

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Fleur de Lys Confit de Canard

The full description of this is Confit de Canard, Pommes de Terre Sarladaise (Pulled Duck Confit with Garlic and Parsley Potatoes)… The evening we tried this, we also had the Gnocchi Parisien and the Kronenbourg Blanc 1664.

The duck was very rich and the flavor was okay, but not as “ducky” as we prefer

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Fleur de Lys Gnocchi Parisien

The full description is…

Gnocchi Parisien a la Provencal (Parisian Style Dumplings with Vegetables and Mushrooms)

The dumplings weren’t like Italian gnocchi at all in terms of shape or texture. It was more like someone had made a long “snake” of dough, cut it off into equal sections, and called it dumplings.

The vegetables

2014 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival – Interesting Topiary

Instead of doing a post of all the topiaries at the 2014 Flower and Garden Festival (a lot of which are repeats from previous years), here is a photo blog of a selection…

Buzz Lightyear (Mission to Space)

Phineas and Ferb

Sorcerer Mickey from Fantasia

Dancing Hippos and a Crocodile from

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2014 – Buttercup Cottage Field Greens Salad

I think of this as Buttercup’s Salad, the actual description is a lot longer…

Field Greens with Plant City Strawberries, Toasted Almonds and Farmstead Stilton (sounds good, doesn’t it?)

This item was made when Nick ordered it on a Monday evening (in other words, it wasn’t sitting around waiting for someone to come
