Here is the fifth installment of the Eat Each Sandwich Challenge (#2013eateachsandwich)…
So far, nora’s had…
- Hawaiian BBQ
- Ham ‘n’ Swiss
- The All American
Today’s entry is the Cannonballs!…
Described as “Meatballs, Mozzarella & Parmesan, and Marinara Sauce”…
Not really a meatball sandwich kind of girl (meaning that nora doesn’t usually go out of her way to get one or even order them regularly)… this one is pretty doggoned good.
The tomato sauce was very good – onion, garlic, herbs, and nice chunks of tomato each stand out. This was so good, that nora kept thinking about having it on pasta.
The meatballs were also good, not too much filler and the flavoring was simple and on point. They weren’t overpowered by too many herbs or seasonings.
The meatballs weren’t actually spherical, they were meat domes… for some reason this just stuck in nora’s head, she just wanted to figure out how they made the meatballs. Finally, decided that they must use a food scoop and pack the meat mixture into the scoop, then bake the meatballs. On the walk home from Earl of Sandwich, she created a new nonsense word to describe this process “Schloop plop” (doesn’t sound very appetizing, does it?)
