2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival – South Korea Marketplace – Lettuce Wrap with Roast Pork

So, yesterday I showed you one of the two items from our “must have” or “really want” lists that we were able to get AND I told you that some booths were sold out of some items (excepting Ireland – they only had dessert left)…

We both had the lettuce wrap from South Korea on our lists. When we made it over to their booth, we stopped to see how they were portioning it (because we observed earlier in the week that the kimchi hot dogs were getting smaller) – hmmm, they’re being a bit generous (nope, not loading you down with meat but not being chintzy either).

The lettuce leaves were actually good sized for eating this as a true wrap. You can’t see much of the pork from the photos because of the nice helping of kimchi slaw…

Now, I want to say something – if you were afraid to eat the two items from the South Korea booth because of the word “kimchi” – both items had pickled vegetables on them – cut up cabbage and carrots mostly, a bit vinegary but not as much as a Mount Olive Kosher Dill Pickle. Disney World was NOT serving the spicy, funky, wonderfulness that is what most Americans recognize as kimchee.

nothing to be afraid of re: kimchi slaw 🙂 and the pork was delicious

There was a faint spiciness from the slaw and the mayonnaise. The pork was very moist and flavorful (much better than the pork from Hawaii). We would definitely get this dish again.
